Cricket Wireless Launches
ZTE Grand X
on August 8th
Cricket today announced that it’s kicking off August by adding a new Android smartphone to its prepaid lineup.
The ZTE Grand X will be available online and in Cricket stores starting August 8 at a price of $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. In exchange for your Benjamin, you’ll be getting a smartphone with the following specs:
- 5-inch display
- 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor
- 5-megapixel rear, 1-megapixel front cameras
- 2300mAh battery
- Qualcomm Quick Charge 1.0, which can charge devices up to 40 percent faster than non-Quick Charge hardware
- SRS TruMedia surround sound
- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
While the ZTE Grand X is clearly an entry-level device, it’s actually not a bad offering when compared to most of Cricket’s other sub-$100 smartphones, including ZTE’s own Sonata and Overture. Plus, the Grand X’s 5-inch display could make it appealing to customers that want a bigger phone but are on a budget.
