How to Thoroughly Repair a Water Damaged ZTE Phone

How to Thoroughly Repair

 a Water Damaged

ZTE Phone

Sure we have all heard of the place the phone in rice trick among many others, but sometimes our phone takes more of a bath than it does a slight dip in the water.  When this happens, many of the circuits arc or get contaminated by mineral deposits that cause the phone to repeatedly short circuit.

By using rubbing alcohol which evaporates completely and the use of an abrasive yet soft scrubbing tool like a toothbrush, these deposits are removed and the unit can send flawless signals to the processor and other vital areas for full functionality.  Follow the video and remember to take pictures as you disassemble your ZTE phone for easy reassembly.

There's nothing worse than finishing your project with bolts left on the table.

ZTE Fury Screen Repair

ZTE Fury Screen Repair

This video demonstrates the delicate process of removing your ZTE Fury's screen and is also practical for several other ZTE Models.  We all make mistakes and accidents do happen so when these unfortunate circumstances do occur, its nice to know there is a cure.  Keep in mind that you void your warranty when opening the phone yourself, but if the phone is older than one year, chances are that your warranty is gone anyway.

I would definitely verify this before attempting your own repairs as nothing is easier than recieving a shiny new phone from the manufacturer.  I have also provided some links below for parts and more importantly, protective gear so this never happens again.

ZTE Nubia Z7 vs Samsung Galaxy S5

ZTE Nubia Z7

vs

Samsung Galaxy S5

As both of these great powerhouse phones offer outstanding specs, each one provides an edge depending upon your needs.  The ZTE Nubia Z7 does have a lightning fast processor and a larger battery, but the Galaxy offers a larger expandable memory slot, has Gorilla Glass™, is waterproof, and offers a higher resolution.  I'm afraid hands down........The Galaxy Wins hands down.  However, this great phone from ZTE certainly gives this phone a run for its money.  At a price that fall usually $100 or more under the S5, the Nubia is a great priced smartphone.

ZTE Red Bull V5 Unboxing

ZTE Red Bull V5 Unboxing

ZTE launched their ZTE Redbull V5 4G LTE phone here in China earlier this week at the low of only $135 here are the full specification details of this super phone.  ZTE really bucked the trend of producing a low cost smartphone for the Chinese market, and rather than going for the ‘plug-in and play’ Mediatek solutions, instead approached Qualcomm. The Redbull V5 uses a quad-core Snapdragon MSM8926 chipset, aka a Snapdragon 400.

The Snapdragon 400 is a low-cost 4G LTE chipset, and works with TDD-LTE (largely used across the world), 3G TD-SCDMA and GSM frequencies.  Memory options for the phone include 1GB RAM 4GB internal memory, or 2GB RAM and 8GB memory. If that isn’t enough then the memory can be extended using a 32GB SD card. And yes there is dual-sim support!
OS on the Redbull has been lifted directly from ZTE’s flagship Nubia range of phones, so you will be getting Nubia UI 2.0. Nubia UI 2.0 offers a new flat look and advanced camera features called Neovision 3.0 to produce stunning photographs.

  Other hot features include a 5-inch 1280 x 720 display, 13 mega-pixel f2.2 Sony Exmor main camera, 5 mega-pixel front, Bluetooth 4.0, 2.4Ghz WIFI, OTG and a removable 2400mAh battery .

ZTE Nubia 5 video walkthrough

ZTE Nubia 5

 video walkthrough

This Review is brought to you by Andrew Martonik from Android Central

A solid set of specs and features taken to their logical conclusion and sold for a good price - is that enough to make a sale?

With a string of carrier-commissioned and cheap unlocked handsets, ZTE has been struggling to work its way into the U.S. market. The same can actually be said for most areas outside of Asia and its home country of China, as ZTE has tried to expand its mainland success out into the rest of the world. It can likely be said that the unveiling of the Grand S LTE was its best shot back at CES in January of this year, but that launch was generally fumbled and the device really didn't make any waves.

But as the Grand S finally makes its way to the U.S. in an unlocked form sold directly by ZTE, another handset with similar specs but a new design has emerged — the Nubia 5. With a nice display, simple look and an adequate spec sheet, the Nubia 5 actually seems as though it might have a few things going for it. And at $450 unlocked with a full U.S. warranty, it may just be a handset sold in the states that ZTE can be proud of. Read along after the break for our full review of the ZTE Nubia 5.

ZTE Grand X launching on August 8

Cricket Wireless Launches
ZTE Grand X
on August 8th

Cricket today announced that it’s kicking off August by adding a new Android smartphone to its prepaid lineup.

The ZTE Grand X will be available online and in Cricket stores starting August 8 at a price of $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. In exchange for your Benjamin, you’ll be getting a smartphone with the following specs:

  • 5-inch display
  • 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor
  • 5-megapixel rear, 1-megapixel front cameras
  • 2300mAh battery
  • Qualcomm Quick Charge 1.0, which can charge devices up to 40 percent faster than non-Quick Charge hardware
  • SRS TruMedia surround sound
  • Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
While the ZTE Grand X is clearly an entry-level device, it’s actually not a bad offering when compared to most of Cricket’s other sub-$100 smartphones, including ZTE’s own Sonata and Overture. Plus, the Grand X’s 5-inch display could make it appealing to customers that want a bigger phone but are on a budget.

ZTE Blade Vec

ZTE Blade Vec

ZTE Grand S - rear camera  ZTE has detailed its first smartphone to use the Google Now Launcher, shunning its own custom user interface, and also teased the forthcoming announcement of a fitness wristband. We heard about the Blade Vec 4G earlier this week, but have now been given the features and specs concerning the device.
The phone has a 5-inch screen with an HD resolution – we’re betting that’s 720p, but ZTE hasn’t confirmed it – and is powered by the latest version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 chip, which provides it with 4G LTE connectivity.  On the rear of the phone is an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, but selfie fans are going to be disappointed by the 1-megapixel camera above the screen.

ZTE has provided the Blade Vec 1GB with RAM and 16GB of storage space. There’s the usual array of sensors, plus GPS, Wi-Fi Direct, and an FM radio. A 2300mAh battery should be just about enough to power this relatively simple phone for at least a day. The operating system is Android 4.4, complete with the Google Now Launcher, and Google’s voice control system. A revised version of the Grand S2 smartphone was announced alongside the Blade Vec 4G, and it now boasts a new Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 4G LTE, and 16GB of internal memory.

The company took a moment to tease us about a forthcoming fitness wearable device, which has been given the highly amusing name of the Grand Band. It sounds like ZTE’s take on Samsung’s Gear Fit (and not a well-dressed orchestra) and it will apparently measure the wearer’s heart rate, store the data, and help monitor health conditions. It doesn’t specifically mention tracking activity, but we’d be surprised if it wasn’t a feature. Described as “fashionable and practical,” we can look forward to the Grand Band launching later this year, in a variety of colors.

ZTE’s Blade Vec 4G is the first phone outside of the Nexus and Google Play Edition phones to come with Google’s launcher pre-installed, and the company promises there are more to come. For now, the Blade Vec 4G is available in Hong Kong and several European countries. A U.S. launch could come in the future though.
